Northeast Textiles’ bribery policy prohibits the offer or receipt of anything of value in exchange for a business benefit or advantage.  Our policy prohibits all forms of bribery, whether direct, indirect or through third parties.

Gifts, Hospitality & Expenses

Northeast Textiles strictly prohibits the offer or receipt of anything of value in exchange for a business benefit or advantage.  Gifts, hospitality, and expenses must not improperly affect or influence the outcome of a business transaction or give the appearance of affecting a business transaction.

Political Contributions

Northeast Textiles prohibits the misuse of charitable donations and sponsorships as a subterfuge for bribery and corruption. 


Northeast Textiles protects whistleblowers from retaliation for reporting suspected violations of anti-corruption policies.

External Partner Adherence to Anti-Corruption Principles

Northeast Textiles should require external agents, business partners, contractors, and suppliers it controls to implement their own or comparable anti-corruption policies and procedures and encourage all others to do the same.  Northeast Textiles requires such external partners to self-certify compliance at the outset of the relationship and periodically thereafter.

Anti-corruption Provisions in Business Partner Contracts

Northeast Textiles contracts with business partners include contractual agreements to comply with Northeast Textiles’ anti-corruption policies and procedures, including right of termination in case of breach.

Northeast Textiles conducts periodic training to ensure effective communicating of our anti-corruption policies and procedures.  Training is provided through staff meetings, conference calls, and the company handbook.

Northeast Textiles complies with environmental legislation and other requirements, such as approved codes of practice.

Northeast Textiles recognizes the importance of environmental issues to our business.

Northeast Textiles assesses the environmental impact of all historic, current, and likely future operations.

Northeast Textiles continually seeks to improve environmental performance, e.g., by doing a regular walk-around survey of our business to see if we are using energy and water efficiently and whether measures to reduce waste and pollution are effective.

Northeast Textiles encourages suppliers and contractors to uphold similar environmental standards.

Northeast Textiles encourages our customers to use products and services in an environmentally sensitive way.

Northeast Textiles communicates environmental aims and objectives to employees and external stakeholders.

Northeast Textiles implements on-site recycling of cardboard, office paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass.


Workplace Violence

Workplace violence is any act or threat of physical violence, harassment, intimidation, or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at the work site.  It ranges from threats and verbal abuse to physical assaults and even homicide.  It can affect and involve employees, clients, customers, and visitors.

Northeast Textiles has a zero-tolerance policy toward workplace violence.  This policy should cover all workers, clients, visitors, contractors, and anyone else who may come in contact with company personnel.


Employment Discrimination

Employment discrimination happens when an employee is treated unfavorably because of his or her race, skin color, national origin, gender, disability, religion, or age.  It is illegal to discriminate in any facet of employment, so workplace discrimination extends beyond hiring and firing.  For example, employment discrimination could occur in any number of situations, including:

It’s important to note that discriminatory practices can occur in any aspect of employment.  It is illegal for an employer to make assumptions based on race, gender, or age-related stereotypes, and it’s also unlawful for an employer to assume than an employee may be incapable because he or she is disabled.

Additionally, companies are prohibited from withholding employment opportunities from an employee because of his or her relationship with someone of a certain race, religion, or ethnicity.  Unlawful discrimination also includes harassment based on legally protected personal traits, including (but not limited to) race, gender, age, religion, and sexual orientation.

Employers are required to inform employees about their rights under EEOC laws and must include that all employees will be free from retaliation if they do file a discrimination complaint.
